Turnpike Field- bridge damage and path closure

The recent heavy rains have done more than just create lots of lakes and mud around Audlem. The River Weaver flood water has also caused the wooden footbridge on Turnpike's public footpath, down at the Greys' Bridge entrance, to be floated off its supports and it's now sitting on the bank!!

So, obviously this footpath is now impassible at that point.

Cheshire East's Public Rights of Way department have been informed, as it is their responsibility. The necessary repairs will be carried out as soon as feasibly possible, but please be patient- as you can all appreciate they have a huge amount of emergencies to be dealing with, and the bridge that was only replaced four years ago is understandably not top of the list! However they will make sure it is done.
