Herewith report and attached photographs for Audlem Canal & River Trust Towpath Taskforce event, which took place on the evening of Wednesday the 1st of June.

Making best use of good weather, it was back to completing lock painting, canal-side infrastructure and refurbishing signs. To note, the volunteers in the daytime completed the dirty and undesirable task of tidying all the litter and rubbish left on the ground in the services bin compound after the visitor-busy weekend.

Work completed

  • Refresh of the paint work on Lock 15 balance beams.
  • Refresh of the paint work on bridge 79 rope guards.
  • Painted the notice board support post and cleaned the notice board adjacent to Lock 15. The glazing seals were re-seated to prevent water ingress.
  • Painted the (non-CRT) visitor information sign post.
  • Painted the stop plank hut doors.
  • Painted and refurbished the welcome to Audlem sign.
  • Painted and refurbished the post supporting the village provided brown sign by bridge 79.
