A highly efficient Christmas tree clearance operation swung into action in Audlem village centre yesterday as ADAS and volunteer helpers removed the large tree from the Square and forty smaller trees from shops, houses and public buildings. All had been illuminated by ADAS throughout the Christmas period to spectacular effect.

The foliage went off to be recycled. There is no confirmation as yet for this year but last year the Borough recycling centre said that half the Christmas trees brought for recycling had been from Audlem. Given the size of the tree in the Square, and the service to collect and recycle trees from Audlem homes for £2.50 each to raise money for the Scout & Guide Hall, this year's figure could be even better.
