Top Lock Repairs

The Canal & River Trust is carrying out planned winter repairs on the Audlem flight of locks.

Work has commenced at Lock 1, the top lock at Coxbank, with the installation of barriers and safety equipment.

The planned works include relining the lock gates to reduce leakage, repairs to the stop plank grooves and repairs to the lock ladders.

Unfortunately, as the lock is completely fenced off, there is no public access across the lock for walkers.

Please note that it is not possible to access the towpath from the gate by the bridge below the lock (or vice versa).

This situation is likely to last for several weeks.

Work is also due to start at Lock 14 shortly.
