On behalf of the village, the Steering Committee would like to thank all of those people who participated.

Another vital step in the process is for residents to be able review, discuss and approve all policies that are part of the emerging Neighbourhood Plan.

To facilitate this, an easy and relaxed opportunity was provided on Thursday at the Public Hall. This took the form of an informal display for residents to be able to look at the draft Policies and chat with various members of the Steering Committee so as to provide feedback and approval.

The event had been widely publicised around the village well in advance. The number of residents that took this opportunity to attend was a little disappointing – fewer than 80 people managed to drop in during the 5.5 hours. However, those that came were very interested and the ensuing discussions and feedback were very positive.

There were few, if any, comments that could be taken as being particularly critical of what has been done so far and the completed review forms showed there was ~90% support for each of the policies presented.

There were quite a number of interesting comments on housing design which will be taken on board at our next meeting.

Several comments suggested that we might add 'and cyclists' in the various policies where the Plan refers to the safety of pedestrians, as well as some traffic/parking suggestions that will also be reviewed.

The much raised concerns regarding medical provision were again voiced, together with the possibility for the provision of one (or more!) pedestrian crossings in the village centre.

Since a lot of the session was during working hours, then perhaps the next one should be held in the evening or at a weekend? We would appreciate any feedback on this or anything else that might make it easier for more people to attend the next review.

If you have any thoughts on this please contact the Steering Committee at: np@audlem.org.
