Thoughts on the floral display after the deluge

Ralph Warburton of ADAS writes: "The floral displays this year are very poor and the Impatiens (Busy Lizzies) are all very sad looking – having suffered heavily from the bad weather of June and July. They may pick up and re-flower now that we have sun but I can only apologise to everybody for the lack of colour in the place.

"The begonias are doing well- so perhaps we will need to consider more of these for 2008. Watering of tubs and baskets now becomes a priority if we are to keep going what we do have for the next month or so."
