Tackling the Heavy Goods Vehicles passing through Audlem

A new article has appeared on the Homepage detailing the draft submission to the Government that has been prepared by the Parish Plan working group dealing with the key issue in last year's Audlem Parish Plan questionnaire – the large number of HGVs passing through the village.

The draft has been published to give residents an opportunity to comment or make suggestions before the submission, with several appendices of supporting evidence and photographs, is handed to the Government in September. Stephen O'Brien, the local MP, said he would support this when he visited Audlem in May.

It is recognised that de-priming the A525 is only a first step. But it is critical now that trucks use satellite navigation systems that take them on what appear to be the most direct routes along Prime roads. The Cheshire Street/Green Lane north/south route isn't a prime route and therefore other arguments will have to be found. Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

The next Vote Poll, to start shortly on Audlem Online, will ask if you support this bid to de-prime the A525.
