SureCare Supports Health and Wellbeing with the Whzan Blue Box

At SureCare Central Cheshire, we’re always looking for new ways to care for our clients and keep everyone safe, healthy, and comfortable at home.

We’re excited to share that we’ve introduced the Whzan Blue Box, a simple, portable digital health toolkit that helps our care team keep a closer eye on people’s wellbeing.

The Blue Box allows our carers to take key health readings such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels. These readings are used to create a quick National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) — the same system used by the NHS to spot early signs that someone’s health might be changing.

This means we can pick up on small changes sooner, get the right help more quickly, and keep family informed. It’s another way we’re combining thoughtful care with smart technology to give our clients and their loved ones extra peace of mind.

We’ve been using the Blue Box to monitor the stats of our clients in a few different ways. For some, it is working alongside other healthcare professionals to reduce hospital admissions. With others, it’s helping them to get home from hospital quicker as we can monitor their health signs at home.

Each Blue Box contains a tablet and Bluetooth health tools that connect securely to a cloud system, allowing our team — and where appropriate, GPs or family members — to review up-to-date information. It helps everyone feel confident that the right care decisions are being made at the right time.

SureCare’s Registered Manager, Sarah Castelow, said: “Our adoption of Whzan Digital Health demonstrates our commitment to integrating technology with compassionate, person-centred care.  It allows us to provide proactive support, enhance wellbeing, and giving families peace of mind.”  Sarah went on to say: “The Blue Box is a great support to all of our clients, particularly those that have live-in care packages and have a dedicated box for their sole use.”

As well as monitoring vital signs with our clients, we’ve also been using the Blue Box in the community. One of our senior carers, Lauren, has attended events at coffee and luncheon clubs in the rural communities around Nantwich.

Senior Carer, Lauren Doherty, said: “It’s been brilliant to meet those in the local community and use the Whzan Blue Box to encourage those who are putting off booking a check-up with the GP to get them booked in.”

One attendee said: “It’s been great to come in today and have my blood pressure checked. I'm meant to do it at home, but I struggle to put the cuff on, and getting out to the GP to get it checked isn't easy.”

We’re proud to be using innovations like the Whzan Blue Box to make a real difference in our community — ensuring that everyone we support can live well, independently, and with dignity.
