Audlem has recorded yet another success. In December 2005 the Parish Council was awarded "quality status". Jean White, Audlem's Clerk, said "In qualifying for the award we demonstrated that the Parish Council is representative of, and actively engages with, all parts of its community and that it is properly managed."

The Quality Parish and Town Council scheme was launched in June 2003, following the publication of the government's Rural White Paper, 2000. In order to qualify, parish councils have to pass a number of rigorous tests covering areas such as qualifications of the Clerk and conduct and reporting of meetings. For those interested in finding out more about what "quality status" means see: the National Association of Local Councils (The website link that was here no longer works)

Audlem is the first parish council within the Crewe and Nantwich area to achieve quality status.
