Hi. My name is Wendy Cliffe and my husband Paul and I are running the BUPA Great North Run on 19th September 2010. The charity we are running for is Friends of Rosebank (charity number 1023891). This charity raises money for Rosebank School in Barton, Northwich. Rosebank School has a specialist provision for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a disorder of neural development characterised by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behaviour.

Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapse connect and organise.

The reason we have chosen this charity is because 3 years ago Paul and Serena Dutton moved in next door with 3 children, one of whom has Autistic Spectrum Disorder. This was the first time we had met a child with this neurological order. He attends Rosebank School who have helped him improve in all aspects of his life.

The money we raise will go to help pay for the physiotherapist and the sensory equipment. These are very important for communication, behavioural and social skills development.

You can sponsor us by going on the website JustGiving" rel="nofollow">JustGiving and search for Friends of Rosebank Charity number 1023891 and click on Paul or Wendy Cliffe. Both Paul Wendy Cliffe have a picture of running shoes.

Thank you in advance for your sponsorship.
