The speed and volume of traffic travelling through our village can be truly frightening. On too many occasions there has been near misses and close shaves from many varied types and sizes of motor vehicle. It is becoming unsafe and a serious accident will occur to either pedestrians or other road users.

What can the concerned Audlem residents do to eliminate this serious risk in our beautiful villages? We need to make it safe and must take action.

It seems that Adderley and Hankelow do not have the same severity / problem with speeding vehicles as Audlem has. Could it be as a result that these two villages conduct more regular speed checks and drivers are aware?

The more speed checks that take place the better for us all, speed checks work and offenders will become more aware and most likely take heed and respect the 30 MPH limit.

Tuesday 12th July I, along with Juliet and PC Nick Jarvis conducted an Audlem Speed Watch on the exit from Audlem heading towards Nantwich on the A529. We took note of offending vehicles, there was many.

If there are no objections. I am assuming to be the lead and manage this activity going forward on behalf of Audlem .

I am looking to increase the team of volunteers. Previous speed watch volunteers who wish to resume this activity are most welcome along with any new volunteers.
