Cheshire Street Resurfacing

Cheshire East Highways will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on Cheshire Street, Audlem from its junction with Stafford Street to the junction of Heathfield Road. A road closure to be in place during the works.

The works are to start on 24/10/2026 and proceed for approximately 8 days.

Councillor Rachel Bailey has written to Cheshire East Highways to address concerns she has received from residents, and is pleased to confirm that:

Full access will be allowed to the car park throughout the duration of the works, especially on Monday 26th when a funeral is planned. Delays will be kept to the absolute minimum. There will be gate men on site at both ends of the closure who will guide motorists through the works for access purposes. The road will be closed to through traffic between 0730-1600hrs. The work actually starts at the junction of Shropshire Street and finishes at the junction of Heathfield Road.
