Bird lovers – get prepared for two very big national events coming up in the next few weeks:

• The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 24-25th January 2015. All you need to do is to register on their website, spend an hour over the weekend of 24-25th January counting the birds in your garden or green space, then submit your report. It's that simple!
• British Trust for Ornithology National Nest Box Week 14th to 21st February 2015. Put a nest box up from 14 to 21 February to celebrate National Nest Box Week (NNBW).

But, of course you can put up a nest box at any time of the year!
