While we have received generally favourable comment about the new version of AudlemOnline which went live several months ago, it is clear that there are some aspects which are proving a bit tricky for some people.

Breadcrumb trail

This feature, whose name derives from the fairy tale about children finding their way out of the deep dark woods by a trail of breadcrumbs, shows up in the top left corner of every screen.

It shows the steps taken by the user to reach the current screen and allows them to return to a previous stage in the chain simply by clicking on the appropriate point. This is particularly valuable for the "home" link, which is always the starting point for the breadcrumb trial.

The picture shows a typical news screen with the home link outlined in red.

Bus timetables

This specific item appears under "transport" in the services section of the site.

We found on investigation that the link to load the pdf file showing the timetable had not been set up properly when the website was updated – this has now been fixed.

So to get to the bus timetables, the route is services/transport/buses.

A link to the appropriate part of the Cheshire East website has also been added to the useful links page (see below).

Miscellaneous files held on the website.

The files link on the home page brings up a list of all the various information files held on the website and any of them can be downloaded and read.

Useful links

Not everyone may realise that the "useful links" link on the home page shows a list of external links to various sites, including, for example, live arrival and departure boards at Manchester Airport and Crewe Station.
