We're running very low on History Shorts for future use and would welcome contributions.
The experience of the thirty History Shorts to date is that they are nothing if not wide-ranging in the topics they explore. Some are scholarly and others more light-hearted.
There are no constraints on the subject matter -- within reason! -- just an expectation that it will touch on some aspect of history. Ideally, pieces should be 300-400 words long, but that's not rigid.
If you don't feel confident in committing your thoughts and ideas to paper, we're happy to work with you to produce the finished article. Photographs and other images add to the interest, but we can help source suitable material.
There's an archive of all past History Shorts under the Features heading on this website. Have a look -- it might give you inspiration!
Please send your piece to firstname.lastname@example.org
