Tony Crowther is leading our next Short ARS walk at Lee Brockhurst on Saturday 24th February from Lee Brockhurst war memorial in Shropshire:-
Meet Audlem Car Park at 9.15 am Depart 9.30am
Drive 20 minutes to Lee Brockhurst War Memorial which is situated just off the main A49 Whitchurch to Shrewsbury Road. Grid reference SJ548268.
This walk is a six mile round trip, consisting mainly of ancient tracks, bridle paths and country lanes, with some field footpaths, woods, farm drives and a double crossing of the very busy A49!!
With reasonable weather, good views can be seen across the The Wrekin at Telford and back over Beeston, plus the Welsh Hills the other way.
The walk is dog friendly with several kissing gates and a handful of stiles. There are no steep inclines but there is one very wet muddy track for approximately half a mile.
Approximate time taken is 3 hours with a coffee stop. Please note there are no toilets or shops en route.
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
