Short-ARS in the undergrowth

A group of 23 stalwart ARS members plus three dogs walked round the "Brooks Mill Circuit" on Saturday – about 5 miles of paths across fields with a few short bits of road.

As can be seen from the photo, some of the stiles were well overgrown, but several ARS members had come equipped with secateurs (but alas no flame-thrower) to cut their way through where necessary.

The result is a much clearer walk (at least until the jungle grows back) and the walk itself finishes with the crossing of a slightly dodgy looking bridge over the Weaver before arriving at Lock 15.

And to cap it all, a piece of superb planning got us back into the village and settled under the marquee outside the Lord C for the Beer Festival, just as the heavens opened.
