Children in Years 3 and 4 welcomed their parents to a shared Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling lesson on Wednesday morning. The children enjoyed sharing their learning with our visitors and the 'live' session was followed by an information session led by Mr Perry. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for this.

We also welcomed Year 1 and 2 children's relatives to share lunch with us on Wednesday and the children thoroughly enjoyed showing their visitors their lunchtime routines! Thank you to all of the relatives who joined us and to Mrs Hayward and her team who provided both a delicious meal and help in organising this special lunch.

Three of our Year 6 pupils have a special role to play in this year's Audlem Carnival as they will be part of the parade as Carnival Queen (Jenna Gavin) and her Attendants (Amber Riley and Jake Gardiner). I am sure they will all do a wonderful job!

Don't forget – The children in Diamond class are taking part in an art project based on Pop Art for the Audlem Music and Arts Festival to be displayed in the Methodist Church. They are working with Christine Johnson creating their own 'masterpieces'. They are creating some wonderful work for display at the Festival – please look out for it.

This week's Praise Book children are:
Mrs Hayward's Class – Emma Kay
Miss Danha's Class – Riley Baxter
Mrs Richardson's and Mr Morrey's Class – Tilly Byrne
Mrs Stoker's Class – Esme Javens
Mr Perry's Class – Jonathon Eaton Latham
Mrs Bird's Class – Amelie Varley
Congratulations to you all!

Tidy Team -The winning class this week are Amethyst and Sapphire classes – well done!
The winners of our Attendance Cup this week are Amethyst and Diamond – well done!

Active Audlem on Tuesday morning was another popular event for parents, children
and staff. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this; it is such a refreshing start to our day!

FASA
This week's AGM was a chance to stop and reflect on just how much FASA's fundraising events have achieved again this year. FASA Chair, Deborah Varley, presented a report outlining all of the wonderful resources and projects the money raised has funded including supporting the cost of trips and visitors to help to bring learning to life, Science and Green Team resources and new chairs for the hall.

With the wonderful support of our families and wider community, FASA have managed to beat their fundraising target for this year and have raised an amazing £4346!

The AGM meeting was testament to the energy and enthusiasm the FASA team give to school and the generosity of parents and the local community. Thank you to everyone who has supported this incredible work this year.

Dates for your diary!
Don't forget! FASA's next Film Night will be on Thursday 9th June from 5pm-7pm.
FASA will also be holding a Quiz Night at the Lord Combermere on Tuesday 21st June at 9.00pm.
Our Summer Fair will soon be with us when we return to school after the half term break. It will be held on Thursday 7th July from 3.30pm – 5pm.
Please look out for more details in future newsletters.

ABC Childcare
Don't forget the wonderful activities available at ABC over half term – please contact ABC on 01270 748081 to find out more.

Staffing
We said goodbye to Miss McGraw and Miss Simpson on Friday as they end their teacher-training placement in Amethyst and Ruby classes. We wish them luck in the rest of their training and thank them for all their hard work whilst they have been with us.

Mrs Naden, our Caretaker, will not be in school for a number of weeks following an operation.
Mr Lomas will be covering the Caretaking role in school whilst Mrs Naden recovers. I am sure he will do a fabulous job.

Exciting Allotment News!
Ebony Jo Rudd-Farnell's parents have kindly agreed to remove our old planters on our school field and replace them with new raised beds for an allotment area for all the children in school to use.

They will be digging out the old beds and preparing them for planting before replacing
them with the new ones they have sourced and prepared for school in the Spring. The first part of this work will take place on the first Tuesday back after half term (7th June)
from 9.15am.

We would welcome a few volunteer helpers to assist them with this work – many hands will make slightly lighter work! Please let the school office know before half term if you are able to help with this fabulous project so we can finalise arrangements ahead of 7th.
Sainsbury's Active Kids Vouchers
Thank you for all of the vouchers parents, carers and other village residents have sent into school recently. These vouchers help to provide resources for the children and we really appreciate you passing them on to school.

Open Farm Sunday – 5th June
Highfields Farm will be opening their gates to all on Sunday 5th June from 11.00am – 3.00pm. There will be tractor and trailer rides, farm tours, refreshments, nature walks and displays for all the family and a chance to meet the cows and farmer.

Finally
It is Arts Week in school next week and staff have planned a variety of exciting activities
across all aspects of the arts curriculum for classes across school to enjoy – I look forward to updating you about the outcomes in next week's newsletter!
