Ever since we switched over to the new mark IV version of Audlem Online, there has been some evidence of e-mails being sent to editor@audlem.org which have never arrived.

After some in depth investgation we believe that this may have been due to a mismatch in message identifers within the IMAP API process by which individual messages are extracted from the mail message queue and presented to the mail processor. We have switched to a POP3 technology and at the same time we have identified and corrected a possible bug in the periodic service timer loop which controls the process. This amendment has now successfully passed sufficient testing to be given beta release status.

The problem with proving that the change has done the trick is that the error has always been highly intermittent and unreproduceable on demand.

So......

Please read this bit especially

We are asking that anybody sending an e-mail message to editor@audlem.org should "cc" the message to test@audlem.org as well. This address is trapped by a forwarder which redirects it to one of our own personal e-mail addresses.

By this means we will be able to detect whether any messages are still being "lost" and at the same time it will ensure that we do in fact receive all the messages.

In the meantime, if you have sent an email to which we have not responded, please accept our apologies – it might be worth sending it again.

Thank you for your assistance
