At 10am on Saturday morning, just before starting their usual training session, the Audlem Saints junior footballers and some of their parents, together with the coaches and managers, gave a traditional mark of respect for the Funeral of Prince Philip.
They all stood round the centre circle on the playing field and observed the two-minute silence impeccably.
Then they got down to the serious stuff of the day, learning to kick a football around and dreaming of one day running out to the roar of 60,000 fans at Anfield (or Goodison or Maine Road or Old Trafford – according to taste)......
