Audlem Saints U8s continued their fantastic start to the season on Sunday, running out convincing 10-0 winners over Cheshire Blades. Audlem took control from the first few minutes and scored two quick goals as a result of sustained pressure. Particularly pleasing this week was excellent use of the ball in terms of passing and many chances were created as a result of quick, accurate interplay. Only the super performance of the Blades goalkeeper restricted Audlem to just the 2 goals in the first period. However, the second period was one in which Audlem were simply outstanding. High energy levels, good vision and passing and lots of unselfish play created many chances. Clinical finishing meant that the second period ended with Audlem 6-0 to the good. Lots of credit must go to the Cheshire Blades team who continued to compete and play good football throughout the game. The final period though was no different in terms of the flow of play and Audlem added another 4 goals. The final twist was in the very last minute when Cheshire Blades were awarded a penalty. The Audlem goalkeeper, having had very little to do, showed great concentration and agility to scramble across his line and save the penalty to complete a fantastic all round team performance.

Played 6, won 5 drawn 1. Next up, it's the Nantwich Bears.
