Sad end to owl attack

Sadly our beloved pet cat passed away on Saturday morning having succumbed to her injuries as described in the previous AudlemOnline articles last week, despite intensive veterinary care.

She was very much a house cat and despite living next to a field she preferred to remain in our garden and sit under her favourite bush, or simply sit on the gatepost and fence for hours.

Whilst she liked to chase after mice, she did not attack birds – she never killed a single one in our five years of ownership, which sadly had its anniversary on the day she died.

All she really wanted to do in an evening was to curl up on our knee and she never annoyed anybody. She was a very affectionate pet and loved to play at chasing a laser beam.

My wife and I are utterly heartbroken to have lost such a loving companion and I would continue to urge all owners of small pets to keep them indoors during the hours of darkness as there is clearly a great threat to them around at present as our tragedy demonstrates.
