Janet Clowes has given us the link to the 2018 National Rural Crime Survey which has just been published.

Three years on from the last report, it highlights

  • Only 27 per cent of responders thought that their local police were doing a good job – 11 per cent lower than in 2015.
  • Fly-tipping, at 57 per cent respondents, and speeding at 32 per cent are two of the most important issues.
  • Farmers and rural-specific businesses report that 69 per cent have been a victim of crime in the past twelve months
  • Compared to 2015, the number of crimes going unreported to the police is up by a third for residents and two-thirds by businesses in rural communities.
