Runner next-the-sea joins runners by the canal

Audlem running group recently welcomed a guest runner from a running group in Norfolk visiting over the bank holiday weekend.

Angie Barker was staying with friends on their narrow boat and happened to head out for a morning run just as Audlem Running group set off on their weekly route around the village. Gathered up by a swell of runners, Angie's original plan to run alone along two locks of the canal turned into 5 miles around Audlem with 11 fellow runners.

At the end of the run details were exchanged and a reciprocal invitation to 'Runners next-the-sea' Norfolk were made should Audlem runners find themselves in Norfolk. Angie said 'thank you all for inviting me to join you, I really enjoyed it.....even the hills!'

On June 15th Audlem running group are going to travel to take part in their second local park run. This is a 5k run and if you want to come along you just need to register (it's free) on parkrun.org.uk to obtain your unique barcode.

The group meets weekly on Saturday at 8.30am on the village playing field/car park. For the week of the park run please meet at 8am.
