Yesterday, Bernie Marsden of famous 80s rock band 'Whitesnake' was in Audlem, rehearsing for his up-coming tour with local musicians Jim Kirkpatrick and John Gunstone, plus other members of popular local band 'Heavy Weather'. Bernie, who wrote the #1 hit Here I Go Again in 1987, needed somewhere to rehearse and ended up in the Methodist Church!

Another band member in the village was Ian Rowley, bass player for Deborah Bonham. She enjoys a successful career as a vocalist and is also well-known as the sister of the late John Bonham, legendary drummer in Led Zeppelin.

Sharp-eyed rock enthusiasts might have spotted the musicians taking a break in the Priest House, run of course by Andrew Halliwell, a local musical talent for many years. His Grout Band were one of the first of the local bands to put Audlem on the music map.

Bernie Marsden's tour starts soon. The Crown Ballroom in Nantwich is the most local venue on the tour, on Tuesday 11th December, with an 8.00pm start. Tickets are £12 and available from Jim – E-mail jim@jimkirkpatrick.com">jim@jimkirkpatrick.com or ring 07760440753. Also, the support act is Pete Price.
