Road Signs

Many Audlemites who have travelled to France will have noticed the vast improvement in their roads over many years.

Apart from the Autoroute network -- admittedly mainly toll roads -- many of their towns and cities have been by-passed, and generally all roads have been vastly improved. Most by-passes utilise roundabouts for access which slows traffic naturally and safely.

As a result of this success there is in France a national glut (surabondance nationale) of Chaussee Deformee road signs.

AudlemOnline can reveal that Cheshire East is in discussion -- particularly with our new twin town Coq de Banque (located in an obscure corner of France, quite near l'Eglise Blanc) -- to assess whether an amicable deal can be struck to obtain these signs for deployment across Cheshire East.

There seem to be intense efforts to forge good relations by reciprocal visits to pave the way.

AudlemOnline understands that although not all residents of Cheshire East are familiar with the French Language, but believe that after ignoring the signs for the first couple of times, they will soon understand or at least eliminate their vehicles from Cheshire roads.

Since any road signs do not apply in general to BMW and Audi cars, this may educate drivers to take notice.

Clearly Citroen/Renault drivers have cars that will automatically slow before otherwise self-destructing.

Vive l'entente cordiale! Vive la difference!
