This weekend (Saturday June 1st and Sunday 2nd) sees the Audlem RNLI Festival at Overwater Marina, which will include:

  • the dog show on Saturday afternoon
  • a display by the Kath Bell Dog Training Centre.
  • a demonstration and talk of owls, hawks and eagles.
  • The Wychcraft Big Swing Band backed up by the Josh Walker band.
  • Hog and minted lamb roast.
  • A Bar with Monty's Sunshine
  • Pony Rides with Magic & Maisie
  • At 12noon on Sunday the Raft Race
  • The 22-piece Rode Hall Silver Band on Sunday afternoon
  • and much, much, more.

During the last few days we have confirmed some extra attractions:

  • on Saturday more music with Steven Miller after the dogs and the owls
  • on Sunday a steam engine and a steam powered machinery display
  • on Sunday the speakers' marquee begins at 1:45pm and has seven speakers all with differing topics until 3:45pm
  • on Sunday at 4pm we have a narrow boaters question time – all super for folk interested in the canal and boats

Admission is free, and an all-weekend car parking pass is only £3.50.

Audlem Lass will run non-stop from 10.30am to about 7pm. The weather forecast is good so why not opt for a cruise from Lock 15 to the Overwater Marina. And, of course, it's all in aid of the RNLI.
