Revised ARS Walk Tomorrow (Sat 23rd)

Revised ARS Walk Tomorrow

This is a figure of eight walk totalling approximately 7 miles. The first part of about 4 miles starts in the pretty village of Hanmer SY13 3DE, following a mildly undulating route. It begins with lanes before crossing farmland to return to the village alongside the lake.

Meet in the Audlem car park ready to leave promptly at 9.30am. There are two weddings in Hanmer tomorrow so parking may be restricted in church car park. Still plenty of parking spaces adjacent to the lake.

There are about 2 stiles and several kissing gates. There are young pheasant early on and cattle which are fenced in. Later on we have to walk through two fields with young cattle, they took no notice of an annoying puppy and barking terrier.

We will have a lunch break beside the lake.

The second part of the walk, about 3 miles, crosses a couple of fields, one with sheep in, and then follows country lanes back into Hanmer.
