Audlem Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 8th November

Following are some of the matters discussed, a full report will be available in a week or so when the minutes are published.

1. Members of ACER attended the meeting as members of the public, asking the Parish Council to declare a Climate Emergency and to take some specific actions such as provision of electric vehicle charging points and improved walking/cycling provision. The Council responded that, whilst they recognise and will take into account the need for reduction in carbon emissions in matters over which they have control, they will review the request at a later date when more time is available

2. Two Parish Councillors and a Turnpike Working Group representative have had site visits with two contractors to assess the provision of a green car park and are awaiting estimates of the potential costs. Another estimate is already in hand, and these will be discussed at a future meeting.

3. A grant application made by ADAS for £500 to support winter planting was approved

4. The provision of the Go-too bus service was discussed and members urged to encourage its use as initial funding is only for three years ie 'Use it or Lose it' see  https://www.audlem.org/news/go-anywhere-bus.html   for more details

5. The Council is awaiting a reply from Cheshire East with regard to the current policy on selling the playing field

6. A number of Planning Applications were examined, none opposed, but noted there is a considerable back log in CE Planning Department
