Have you wondered if you could learn to play an instrument or how people make sense of reading music? Having trained as a cellist, I have been a music teacher for over 40 years, mostly teaching playing the cello to children, but I have also had a number of adult pupils over the years.

As time has gone by, I have realised how many people are held back from enjoying making music in a practical way by their experiences in childhood and rejoiced with those who have dared to make the step to try again as adults.

One lady who began with me in the 1970s, is still playing at over 90! Several others returned to playing, having given up during the exam years at school. I have helped others discover their singing voices and enjoy singing with others.

I have now lived in Audlem for four years and feel I would like to offer an opportunity to folk from this community. So if you harbour a longing to explore music as an adult, I might be able to help you. I have space for just a few new pupils and would really like now to encourage adults to become active musicians.

You could either learn to play the cello or learn about music, find your singing voice or perhaps begin or improve reading music for interest or to enable you later to play some other instrument or join a choir. I do not aim to put people through exams, just enable them to discover or reach their own goals and enjoy the freedom to express themselves through music.

So if you think you might be interested, do give me a ring (01270 812209) and arrange a time to discuss the possibilities, with no further commitment, unless you wish it. I offer this opportunity to explore the possibilities at a special price of £10 for one initial half an hour session.
