Referendum result

Audlem Parish Council learned this morning that residents had voted "yes" on the question posed in the referendum – "Do you want Cheshire East Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Audlem to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

Out of approximately 1,600 eligible voters 654 voted "yes" and 22 voted "no".

This means that Cheshire East will now "make" (adopt) the Plan at a meeting to be held early next month. As yet we do not know the exact date, but more information will follow as soon as we receive confirmation.

Thanks must go to all who turned up and voted yesterday. It will really make a difference in helping future development to be gradual, well planned and managed, rather than developer-led.

Thanks once again too, to all who participated in bringing the Plan to fruition in any capacity, from writing the Plan to posting leaflets through letter boxes.
