Last month saw the highest number of readers ever clicking on to AudlemOnline.

A total of 43,288 readers in March was almost 800 up on the previous best month in July last year. 100,832 pages were opened. On average, almost 1,400 readers a day clicked on to the website. During the month, we published 164 news stories although we have to admit that figure includes the odd 'reminder' piece, otherwise known as a repeat.

Until the Easter weekend, it looked as if the record would just be missed. The big news, first broken last Thursday evening changed that, however, and Good Friday and Saturday saw record daily readership figures approaching 2,000 a day as people sought news and comments on the housing development being proposed at Little Heath.

The editor would like to thank particularly the other members of the webteam (John Tilling and John Gunstone) and Mike Mason who stepped up to the plate when he was otherwise engaged for two weeks during the month and could only harry and cajole his colleagues from a safe distance on his iPad. John Tilling, standing in as editor, met all this with his normal patience and good humour!

As always, our thanks also to all our readers for your interest and to our contributors sending in news and on the Chatbox, our local photographers, and all who make so much happen in Audlem that there always seems so much to report.
