November was a record month for Audlem Online with readership up 10% on the previous best month.

A total of 33,499 readers clicked on the site, the first time ever that for a full month more than a thousand readers a day, on average, visited Audlem Online. The previous best month was May this year when 30,177 readers were recorded.

The month was helped by three major events – the ASET organised Fireworks followed by the Wartime exhibition on 11/11/11 and finally the Big Switch On. Stories such as the Lancaster bomber that crashed just outside the village also proved of great interest.

The record month coincided with Audlem Online's editor being away for three weeks, rocking his way along Route 66 in the United States. Returning to the UK yesterday, he said: "I'm delighted with the way the other members of the webteam have handled the many stories this month. I was so confident they would, I was able to limit my iPad checks on the site's progress to just three or four a day!"

The webteam say they were delighted to prove that no-one is indispensable although, for the sake of team spirit, they will not mention this to the editor or say anything in public about their success.

Our sincere thanks to all our readers and contribitors for your interest.
