Raw Sewage Warning

AudlemOnline has been alerted to this problem by Andy Davidson – thanks Andy.

Had a visit from United Utilities this morning as once again sewage is leaking into Audlem Brook at the bottom of Windmill Drive – this will of course end up in the River Weaver.

Whilst the leak is not major, and unlike previous times the manhole cover hasn't blown, there is a small discharge of raw sewage into the brook close to the canal.

Bob Cartwright put an article on AudlemOnline about this on 31 January 2015 (see here) when this last occurred although the photograph on AOL that accompanied it is no longer in the archives.

As I know children often paddle and mess about in the stream here, as well as dogs, perhaps you could put an urgent message on AOL warning about the potential health hazard.

I understand from United Utilities that the Environment Agency have been informed.
