If you ever have some spare time, a visit to the Archive reached from AudlemOnline's homepage is always worthwhile with new items being posted regularly.

There are now thousands of photographs, press cuttings and much more now in the Archive creating a fascinating insight into Audlem's past.

A pair of item's caught the webteam's eye recently which you can read by clicking on the images here to the right.

One shows the key dates for the railway that through Audlem for a hundred years; the second a timetable from the mid-1950s, almost decade before the line eventually closed.

Interestingly, the timetable includes freight as well as passenger trains. It wasn't a busy line by this stage but doubtless many readers will recall catching the train and enjoying the delights of small stations, halts where you waved the train down, at the likes of Coole Pilate and Coxbank.

The Archive is maintained by members of the Audlem District History Society.
