Quiz raises over £1,100

Last night the whole of the Lord Combermere was taken over by the quiz teams and quizmasters for this very special Christmas Quiz.

Not a seat was empty as everyone tucked into the annual free buffet arranged by using surplus team entry fees. The Chefs gave us a magnificent spread of extremely good foods and at 8.45pm I began the auction of 10 donated lots.

Great response – and then to the quiz proper. All in all, with the raffle of fantastic prizes, we raised the wonderful sum of over £1100. 

Those who missed such a great example of what this village is about must regret it and the donation of such a great amount to this very needy cause for the terminally ill children says an great deal of the Big Community Spirit we have.
