(The website link that was here no longer works) The weather forecast is looking good and it promises to be a great night in Audlem. It's Proms on the Park, possibly Audlem's biggest night this Saturday 15th July. It's always a fantastic occasion with wonderful music and a real party atmosphere. If you haven't bought your tickets yet, do get them now as last year was a sell out. This year's are selling very well particularly as the weather forecast (and let's hope we are not tempting fate) is for a hot and dry weekend. Which means a picnic listening to great music is hard to beat.
It's significantly cheaper to buy your tickets in advance – £10 per adult or £5 per child compared with £15 and £8 on the gate (and there's a risk all will be sold by then). A Family ticket (2 adults/2 children) is £25 paid in advance and £30 on the gate. (The website link that was here no longer works)
Tickets can be bought at Audlem Post Office (tel: 01270 811211). You can also buy tickets at Nantwich Tourist Information Centre (TIC); Inglenook Fine Arts in Nantwich; Hallmark, Nantwich; Alexander Paper Supplies at Dagfields; Whitchurch TIC and Green End Pharmacy in Whitchurch; Market Drayton TIC and Computer Resources in Stafford Street, Market Drayton; Gift Box in Earle Street, Crewe and Newcastle-U-Lyme TIC.
The Band of the King's Division, renowned throughout the UK, the Bill Basey Big Band and the Crewe Male Voice Choir will provide the music. After the concert, there will be a spectacular firework display. You will have the full range of a traditional Proms with Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1; Parry's Jerusalem, Henry Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Arne's Rule Britannia.
Audlem's Proms on the Park is a huge flag-waving musical experience and one of the highlights of the year in Cheshire's most vibrant village.
