Somehow, we managed to miss the last verse off Jessie's Post Office poem last week.

You can now see it in the photo and, with apologies to Jessie, we reproduce the poem in full with the verse reinstated. It least our mistake is an excuse to help keep the missing Post Office issue alive:

A Cry from the Heart
Where has our Post Office gone?
We're bereft without our Post Office -
Essential to many, old folk like me,
The disabled too.
We feel as if we have been left
and forgotten.

We've tried and tried to get a new P.O.
In various ways
But to no avail.
All we can do is post our mail -
Just letters – no packages or parcels
But most important of all -
We can't get our pensions -
Money which is given to us by the Government!

Oh yes, it's there for us. Waiting
If only we could collect it! -
The nearest P.O. is miles away.
Without a ca r- no way! -
Unless a friend kindly gives us a lift
Or get a taxi (and use some of our pension.)

I have been into Post Offices in
Grocery shops and even
The front room of a terraced house!
So why, Oh why is it so darned difficult
To give Audlem what it needs
A POST OFFICE OF OUR OWN
