Podiatary Service statement

Following Wednesday's story on Audlem Online – 'Audlem Podiatry service cut', – we have now received the following statement from Cheshire East Community Health. They say:

"There are currently staffing issues within the Podiatry service at the Audlem clinic and we are doing everything possible to resolve these and we are currently talking to Cheshire West PCT on the future of the service in its current location. We would like to improve the clinical environment for both patients and staff.

"We do apologise for the anxiety and distress this may have caused to some patients but there are challenging times ahead for all NHS Services and we are striving to provide a more efficient and effective service for the patients within the current financial constraints."

Audlem Online is following this issue up with the health service and will keep you posted about any developments. It is hoped that there will be a conversation with a senior PCT manager over the next few days.
