Parish councillors heard on Monday evening about the state of the garden at 22 Heathfield Road, scheduled to be the entrance to the field behind where planning permission has been obtained for a 26-house estate. They learnt by a letter from Frank Hockenhull, the landowner, that the planned sale of the field had fallen through. A contractor has been found to tidy the garden at 22 Heathfield, however.

The failure so far to sell the field scheduled for development means more uncertainty for neighbouring residents – most of whom have rigorously opposed the proposal.

The other two possible developments at Little Heath – which has outline planning permission granted after appeal – and the proposed one at Moorsfield will, if all goes to plan, be considered at a Cheshire East planning meeting on 19th October.

For Little Heath, it is expected that reserved matters covering Appearance; Landscaping; Layout and Scale of Outline Planning Permission will be considered. For Moorsfield, the planning application for up to 87 dwellings will be considered for the first time by Cheshire East councillors. Audlem Parish Council has submitted an objection as have many local residents.

Another proposed development for 20 dwellings on land adjacent to the Birds Nest on Nantwich Road opposite the Little Heath development has been refused – as reported last week on AudlemOnline. It is not known as yet whether that decision will be subject to an appeal.

Councillors heard that two representatives of the parish council had met planners about the developer's proposal to extend a footpath on Little Heath. Planners agreed with the councillors objection to this idea and the planning application was later refused by Cheshire East.
