At the annual Village Meeting on 24 May 2007, a brief progress report was given by Greville Watts, the Secretary to the Planning working group on the Audlem Parish Plan. The group is working hard preparing a Village Design Statement and Landscape Character Assessment which they plan to publish later this year.

Earlier this month the group met John Gittins of the Cheshire Landscape Trust who has been providing invaluable help. The group is also pleased to welcome two new volunteers following the Village Meeting. Elaine and Chris King kindly volunteered to assist with the landscape surveys, particularly the wildlife and natural history aspects, and have therefore joined the working group.

The group consists of David Latchford; Greville Watts; Bill Campbell;

Shirley Firth; Celia Bloor, Judy Benson and Elaine and Chris King. The documents in preparation should be very helpful in future planning issues and are being prepared by many communities around the country.
