Parking costs at Leighton Hospital double

If you have to park at Leighton Hospital, take plenty of money with you. The cost of parking has gone up from £1 to £2 for the first four hours. And if you have to sit waiting at the hospital for longer than that, the cost of long stay parking has gone up from £2.50 to £3.50. In another seasonal gesture of good will, free parking for disabled drivers has been scrapped.

In answering criticism of the increase and the introduction of charges for disabled drivers, the response from Leighton Hospital was curious. They say the charges will benefit all visitors by improving parking provision for everyone.
