The steering committee of the Audlem Parish Plan will meet next week. They will be considering the Questionnaire responses and starting the working groups that will consider a range of local issues.
The group has been asked by the Parish Council to produce a new plan to follow up the last one published in 2005. The new plan will be considered in the context of 'sustainability.'
The steering group is interested in your views. If you would still like to return a questionnaire it will be included in the analysis of residents' views. The questionnaires were printed on yellow paper and were distributed to Audlem parish households a couple of months ago.
Copies are still available at the Post Office and Williams' newsagents if you no longer have your blank questionnaire. When completed, please return them to the Post Office and Williams'.
The working groups for the Parish Plan are likely to be:
Last time, in 2005, it was found that groups of 6 to 8 people operated best. So, if all groups attract that number, there's room for around 60 – 70 volunteers, although there's nothing to stop people working on more than one group.
Progress on all the action points in the last plan is still being monitored and it is hoped that one of the key actions, de-priming the A525, will be announced in the near future – see Audlem Online's and the Nantwich Chronicle's news story of two weeks ago.
This will be an important step forward as the questionnaires received so far show HGVs through the village to be the most serious issue raised. The steering committee thanks all those that have returned questionnaires and look forward to producing the new Plan in 2010.
