Parish Council, past and future

As a former Parish Councillor I look forward to observing the activities of the 'now vibrant' Parish Council.

It is clear from the article on AudlemOnline last weekend that current Councillors believe that in the past the Parish Council has been generally inactive and lacking in energy. So it is amazing that this dozy lot managed to

  • take over and refurbish the public toilets,
  • produce the Neighbourhood Plan,
  • defend Audlem against speculative planning applications
  • purchase Turnpike Field so that it can be kept as green space for the community in perpetuity.

.....and still attend to all the day-to-day detail of Parish Council business

Astonishingly over many years they also managed to work with most village groups on a personal or formal basis (eg working closely with the APHAx project) and developed Community teams from as far back as 2017.

If this is what a non-vibrant Rip van Winkle Parish Council can achieve, what on earth can Audlem look forward to in this bright new future?
