Overwater Wheelyboat – Update

OVERWATER WHEELYBOAT SERVICES' – GOOD NEWS UPDATE!

As we all look forward to the end of the Covid-19 restrictions, we have received several enquiries as to when we will be able to restart our regular Wheelyboat and Wheelybus activities.

Obviously, there may well be social distancing, together with some PPE requirements and other procedural restrictions still in place for the foreseeable future but, we are hoping to have the Wheelyboat on the water at the beginning of July. After full testing of equipment and "sea trials", including training for new skippers and crew, we anticipate canal trips starting later in the month

As far as the Wheelybus is concerned, obviously during the pandemic, demand has been restricted to essential hospital visits, medical appointments and access for vaccinations.
However, we fully expect that with the easing of lockdown restrictions, we will soon see a significant increase in more "social" bookings and the recruitment of several more Drivers and Drivers' Assistants is one of our key priorities.

For any new Wheelybus volunteers, we provide full training and familiarisation with the vehicle and how we operate, so new and rewarding opportunities are not just limited to our passengers and their carers.
