Open Garden raises record sum

In contrast to last year, the Audlem Aid to Cancer Research Open Garden & Fair summer fundraiser enjoyed fine weather, resulting in over 250 people visiting the event in School Lane on Saturday.

Proceeds from the event exceeded £2000, a record to date for any of the three fund raising events staged each year. The Plant sale which is a feature of this event contributed over £500 to this total.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the event and who staff the shop on a daily basis, thanks to all of you who came along to the event and spent your money, we hope you found something you liked.

There wouldn't be events like this if people weren't so generous with the items they donate to the Cancer Research Shop, so thanks to you as well.

Hope to see you again next year at this event, or the Autumn Fair 2010, or the Spring Fair 2011, both held in the Methodist Hall.
