It is amazing when someone, probably clearing out a relative's house, actually collects items connected with Audlem and sends them to the History Society!
This has happened recently thanks to John Prior Egerton.

Items include the programme of a drama produced by the Foresters from 1905, the dedication of 4 church windows to members of the Atkinson family in 1923 and several photos of scouts and guides from around 1936. The originals will be donated to Cheshire record Office in Chester and copies filed in the History Society's collection in the Scout and Guide Hall.
I include a couple of photos from the visit of the Bishop of Chester for a confirmation service in 1936 when the Scouts and Guides (actually I think they are the younger Brownies?) formed a guard of honour on the church steps.
Does anyone recognise any of these young people?
The vehicle shown is described as the Scout's Fire Brigade!
Thanks Celia Bloor
