Members joining from Audlem area of CW3 have now topped 60 in number and in the area it first started – Church Minshull CW5 – we have 74. Another area with excellent local information links, Bunbury, has rapidly grown to 40.

We are now over 200 in total and growing weekly. It just shows the power of good local interactive communication.

The power of bulk buying has most recently been exemplified by the following extract from the Saturday 11th December in the Daily Telegraph:

The Boiler Juice web site shows that the price of Kerosene had gone from 41p per litre in early September (Oil Baron paid 37.65p!) to 71p now which is a 73% increase. An average £450 per year increase per rural household if it stayed at this level.

However during the same period Crude Oil has gone from $78 to $91 a barrel which is only a 17% increase. If petrol had gone up by 73% there would have been a mass uproar, but we in the rural areas are the silent minority and nobody jumps up and down in protest.

Well, we as the Oil Baron group do not "jump up and down in protest", but put our purchasing power to maximum effect and yesterday, 14th December, our group wanted over 42,600 litres and many were expecting it to be around the 60p per litre mark. We obtained for 46.95p per litre and have many delighted members.
