Kate Down is leading this walk on Saturday 26th October, leaving Audlem Car Park at 9.15 am
Walk details are as follows-
This is a 6 1/2 mile circular walk, starting at Beeston Castle, taking in parts of the Sandstone Trail, Edisbury Way and Shropshire Union canal. It is mostly flat with a little climbing of about 400 feet towards the end of the walk.
There are no stiles as previous stiles have now all been replaced with kissing gates.
On our recce, we encountered a couple of fields with cows but with no problems and also a couple of fields with sheep. Also dog owners should be aware that the woods are full of pheasants!!
Parking at Beeston Castle car park, which is free to English Heritage members and 3 for non members.
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
