Exciting Visits, Singing and Work!

What an exciting week we have had in school together! Monday saw our Year 5 and 6 children heading off to Manor for their residential. When I visited on Monday evening the children could not wait to tell me about the wonderful things they had already achieved and they had only been there for a matter of hours!

We welcomed them back to school on Wednesday, tired but very happy after their canoeing, high ropes, fencing and other adventures! Well done to all of the children, helpers and staff who went on this trip – you all tried lots of new things and were great amassadors for our school.

Our EYFS and Key Stage One children have been busy rehearsing for their Christmas performances this week. The sound of their singing has been wonderful to hear and the sneak previews I have had so far make me think we are in for a treat.

I have seen some wonderful work throughout school this week, especially some pieces
of writing which I have been thrilled to see. Children in Amethyst class showed me
some of their super alien descriptions linked to their space theme, whilst Year 1 and 2 children have been looking at fairy tales and coming up with some great imaginative ideas.

Amber class wowed me with their poetry work about animals and the Year 4 and 6 children who worked with me at the beginning of the week did a super job of improving a story by adding lots of interesting details and descriptions.

Well done

Well done to Molly Sullivan in Year 4 who completed her Active Audlem 10k recently. I know she has already started collecting laps for her 20k! and to Helen Marshall in Year 5 who has completed her Active Audlem 30k.

Football

Despite our boy's football team's best efforts, they were defeated in their match against Weston last Friday. Although Mr Griffiths and the team were disappointed they should feel very proud of reaching the semi-finals which was a great achievement in itself. Well done to you all.

Finally, our Year 6 Roving Reporters have been hard at work sending updates to AudlemOnline and the Nantwich Chronicle about some of the wonderful things we have been doing in school recently. One of their reports is in this week's Chronicle and their most up to date piece is now on AudlemOnline. Do look out for them – they make great reading!

Thanks to the Reporters and Mrs Heathcock for the time they have spent on this.
